Room Tags

Tag rooms across an active plan by threshold and tag logic instead of handling each room as a separate annotation decision.

Repeatable room tagging for direct plans and grouped units

Compare manual tag placement with a rule-based run that can work directly in the view or feed repeated unit groups through attached detail groups.

Manual workflow

Powertools workflow

Choosing tag types by room area is left to the modeler, so the result can vary from user to user.
The user defines the area thresholds and the tag types to use, creating a repeatable rule set.
Creating attached detail groups takes time, and visibility has to be turned on manually on other floors for repeated groups.
Powertools can easily create the attached detail group in software and manage detail group visibility.
If the user wants to change tag types, every attached detail group type has to be edited manually. On large projects, this can take hours or days.
With the overwrite option, the user can change area thresholds and tag types, then apply the update to all attached detail groups in seconds.
When a model group is rotated, a new attached detail group type also has to be produced. In the manual workflow, this takes time.
With a powerful algorithm, Powertools detects rotated groups and creates separate attached detail groups for them.
In buildings with angled facades, the tag angle is calculated by hand.
If the building facade is angled, Powertools can place tags at exactly the same angle. If other facades are orthogonal, it is smart enough to place angled tags only in the rooms that need them.
